The latest AI-powered martech news and releases
Retail media networks were supposed to bring about a more connected, data-driven future for marketers. However, many brands have ended up managing multiple disconnected platforms, dashboards, spreadsheets, and reporting systems that rarely work well together. This fragmentation has become one of the biggest operational problems in commerce media, with marketing teams spending more time exporting reports, cleaning data, and moving files between systems than analyzing performance.
Pacvue, a company that specializes in retail media, thinks AI may be the solution to this problem. This week, they introduced Report MCP, a new capability that connects retail media data directly with AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot. The system uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard developed by Anthropic, which enables AI models to connect directly with external tools and live data sources.
Report MCP is designed to remove much of the friction associated with bringing retail media data into generative AI tools. Currently, marketers rely on clunky workflows to bring retail media data into these tools, involving exporting reports from platforms like Amazon or Walmart, cleaning up spreadsheets, and manually uploading files into chatbot interfaces before asking questions.
With Report MCP, marketers can ask an AI assistant a plain language request, such as pulling share of voice data, comparing it against ad spend pacing across Amazon and Walmart, and generating an optimization report. The AI assistant would then connect directly to Pacvue’s infrastructure, retrieve the data, and return a formatted report inside the chat interface as a CSV or Excel file.
This new feature also integrates with Pacvue’s existing My Report engine, allowing companies to continue using the same enterprise permissions, governance controls, and reporting templates they already rely on. This governance layer is crucial because enterprise AI adoption continues to face challenges around security, compliance, and access controls.
The launch of Report MCP may signal a shift in the marketing technology industry towards more connected, agentic systems that can orchestrate workflows across platforms. Instead of treating AI as a separate tool layered on top of existing systems, marketers are beginning to explore how AI assistants can interact directly with live datasets, automate reporting tasks, and reduce operational overhead.
